Candied bacon. Because why not?

Candied bacon recipe

candied bacon recipe3 tablespoons Griffin’s Original Syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 pound JC Potter Sliced Slab Bacon

  1. Mix together syrup, brown sugar and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Place foil on the bottom of a baking sheet. Place bacon on a cooling rack set over the baking sheet.
  3. With basting brush, spread half the mixture on the bacon. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 20 minutes. Turn bacon, brush with remaining syrup mixture and continue to bake 20 to 25 minutes or until crisp.
  4. Remove bacon from rack while it’s hot or else it will stick. Bacon will continue to crisp once out of the oven. Break slices in half, and serve warm or at room temperature.

About The Author

The Myria Editors

Myria, originally launched in 1998, strives to deliver more conversation, and less gossip. More intelligence, less eye-rolling. More acceptance, less judgment. And throughout the site: more needle, less haystack. Through life's ups, downs, and everything in between, we want to encourage you, support you, and help guide you. The team behind Myria understands that status updates and selfies never tell the whole story, and that we all have stuff to deal with, and that's nothing you need to hide here. Beyond "been there, done that" - every day, we're still there and still doing it. That's how we know: You've got this.
