Salmon with whiskey glaze

This salmon is topped with a whiskey glaze made with Jack Daniel’s, orange juice, garlic and ginger.

Salmon with a whiskey glaze

1/4 C. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey
2 tbsp. canola oil
1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
1/2 C. orange juice
1/4 C. hoisin sauce
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium orange, cut into thin slices, each slice cut in half
4-6 salmon steaks or fillets (about 8 oz. each)

Directions for whiskey glaze

Sautee garlic in oil until softened. Stir in remaining ingredients, except salmon, and bring to a boil. Simmer about 15 minutes, until thickened.

Directions for salmon

Place each piece of salmon on a square of aluminum foil. Grill over medium-high heat with the cover down for about ten minutes.

Brush with glaze and continue to cook 2-3 minutes longer, until the fish is cooked through. Spoon warm glaze over each piece to serve. Makes 4-6 servings.
