Woman gives birth to a 10-pound baby in the car

Lesia Pettijohn and her husband, Jon, welcomed 10-pound, 3-ounce Josiah Benjamin Pettijohn into their family when the baby made his debut right in the front passenger seat of their car.

And because they already had a GoPro camera on when the baby was born, they captured the whole super-fast birth on video.

Quick labor and birth caught on video

The couple were driving down Houston’s Beltway 8 en route to the birth center when their third child decided he didn’t want to wait any longer.

Amazingly, this video shot in July 2015, primarily via the GoPro camera on Jon’s leg, features no nudity, but still perfectly captures the very last stage of labor and their new son’s birth.

Jon told The Facts, “I thought there was a possibility the baby was going to come in the car,” he said. “So I stabilized it on my leg and just kind of held it with my fingers.”

“You’re beautiful! Oh my goodness! What do I do?”

Jon added a bit of clarification about the video in the comments section on YouTube: “By the way, the comment about wondering if we still had to pay for the birth center was just a joke. They still gave us lots of medical care, we still used their facilities including for delivering the placenta. The name of the birth center is Bay Area Birth Center in Pasadena, and we highly recommend them. We have 2 girls, 1 and 2 years old, and they were both born there.”
